2018 SUMMER PROJECTS
We are excited to be entering another summer of improvements on both the North and South Golf Courses. Similar to last year, we will be updating this area of the website with project status through completion.
June 20th, 2018
The bunker restoration project on the North Coure continues to move along without issue and is currently slightly ahead of schedule. Below are a few updated photos of how the progress since our last update.
Here is the excavator removing the old sand from the bunker on hole #6
Right side bunker on hole #6 after the sand has been removed and drainage exposed. Every bunker drain is checked to ensure it is working properly prior to the reshaping of the bottoms.
Hole #8 bunker after re-shaping and installation of JM DuraSpun liner. Additionally, the front side of this bunker is being repaired to re-establish the edge. Over time this front edge deteriorates due to the entering and exiting of the Sand Pro bunker rake.
Hole #10 has sand being placed in the bunker that will be spread and compacted.

The South Course Silver Tees now have sod and in the "grow-in" process. These will be open for play in a few weeks.

Project Timeline
June 7th, 2018
In just a few days there has been significant progress on our projects. As of this afternoon the crew has completed excavating the bunkers on #15, #14, #13, #12 and #11. Following the escavation they have been checking drainage and making any neccessary repairs with very few small adjustments needed. Finally, they have completed the installation of bunker liner on #15's three bunkers. See images below of the progress:

In preperation for the creation of the new Silver Tee Boxes on the South Course there are three areas that the turf has been sprayed to eliminate the grass. There are also four trees that will be removed to provide clear tee shots at these new locations. Below are photos showing where the Silver Tees will be placed:

As of today, the final french drain has been trenched and filled with sand to elimate the majority of the wet areas on the golf course now that the proper amount of irrigation is being applied. These were installed in multiple locations on 12 different holes of the South Course. A big project that will improve the year-round playing conditions.

More updates on the summer improvements.
The photo above is #10 fairway. This fairway, along with all the fairways on the back 9, has been aerified and topdressed with the old bunker sand. Our maintenance crew then hand spread 419 Bermuda sprigs on #10 and #11 fairways. These sprigs are being watered in and will be green in the coming weeks.
Above is a picture taken of a few trees on the South side of #14 green after being trimmed. All trees on the back 9 of the South Course should be trimmed in the next few days.
Here are a couple of photos of the Montecito Putting Course. The first is taken from #17 fairway and shows an area where the shade trees have been removed and lake edge cleaned. The second is of what will be the new #17 & #18 of the putting course. You can see the areas that will be filled with 6" of greens mix and become the putting surface.
These 3 photos are of the practice tee. The irrigation installation is complete and now the drainage is being completed. The orange line in the second picture is where a drain will be placed. The third picture is of a drain connection with the tracer wire.
